Peril Rolls
Peril is resolved by rolling dice over a number of rounds starting with 6d6. The number of rounds is determined by the difficulty of the original action (between 1 and 4). If none of the dice in a Peril roll shows a Success, the Teller is lost.
If there is at least one Success, that round of Peril is cleared, but all failure dice are removed from the pool for the next round. If a player successfully resolves their Peril, everyone's breathing can return to normal, and the ability check fails without any mortal impact.
